Currently Zika virus has appeared in Vietnam, the virus causes brain atrophy in people, especially children now this virus has no vaccine treatment so people need to be careful precautions especially women mother is pregnant or intend to become pregnant.

Zika virus Causes
- Currently in Vietnam was rainy season makes many mosquito development, Zika virus is mainly spread from person to person is not sick patients by way of mosquitoes (Culex).
Signs identify disease
- The incubation period of the virus Zika from 2-10 days after being bitten by mosquitoes
- For adult patients present with mild symptoms similar to dengue fever or sometimes without any clinical manifestations.
- In children present with symptoms of brain atrophy
- For the test for patients with suspected viral infection from the emerging disease Zika.
 

 

Zika virus infection symptoms
Mild temperature from 37.5 to 38.5 degrees
Fatigue, rash papular skin irritation, sore muscles, bones, joints, especially the small joints such as the joints of the legs and knuckles.
Conjunctival hyperemia eye pain, mucositis or tingling, and weakness
Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea for some patients
To diagnose patients with suspected infection should Zika RT-PCR tests (in vitro method to synthesize a DNA sequence determined by enzyme) positive.

Subjects susceptible
- Infants are susceptible subjects and specific cause brain atrophy in children, so pregnant women and pregnancy intention should be cautious.
 

 

Preventing infection
- Do not let water stand in the jars, vases, easy born staggered lead to mosquito development.
- Should periodically spray
- We should pull the membrane at bedtime to avoid burning salt
- We should clean our houses, and around the house clean to mosquitoes do not develop.
- Do not travel service where Zika virus are circulating.
